Asam (アサム, Asamu): The King of Sava and master of Daijō Nan Ken (大乗南拳, "Southern Fist of Mahayana"). He is the father of three spoiled sons (and one daughter) who quarrel over who will succeed him and rule the kingdom. In his desperation, Asam attempts to hire Kenshiro to kill his three sons and prevent a civil war. In his final moments he goes to the mountains to kill Hyūmo, the bandit leader threatening his land. After that he dies because of illness.
