Gee (ジイ, Jii), Eye (アイ, Ai), and Joe (ジョウ, Jō) were three men from the West Central Area that went out to investigate rumors of Kenshiro's grave. Gee was killed by Zoruba and Eye was killed by Zaruji. Joe falls off a cliff, but survives to tell of the grave he discovered, however he was killed by the Imperial Executioner. The names of the three men referenced Hasbro's popular G.I. Joe toyline. Gee and Eye appeared exclusively in the anime series and only Joe appeared in the manga, although he was originally nameless. Toei Animation, the studio that produced the Hokuto no Ken anime series, were also the studio that animated the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series.
