Her reputation attracts the attention of the [[Souther|Holy Emperor]], who requests her allegiance, but she rejects his offer out of her love for Raoh. However, she is seen leaving Souther's quarters and imprisoned by Raoh in [[Cassandra]] as a suspected traitor. As Raoh and Souther fight a bloody battle, Sakuya sacrifices herself to end the fight, claiming that until Souther accepts love or Raoh embraces sorrow neither of them can achieve supremacy.
