- Ryuga (リュウガ Ryūga)
- Ryuga is the master of Taizan Tenrō Ken (泰山天狼拳, "Taishan Celestial Wolf Fist"), a fast and cruel style which severs flesh from the victim's body, inflicting a cold sensation before death. He is represented by the Tenrō-sei (天狼星) or solitary star of Sirius; the Lone Wolf, and the brightest star in the night sky.
Manga & TV Series
- Despite his destiny as a lone wolf, Ryuga was destined to serve Hokuto during chaotic times. Ryuga believed his loyalty lay with Ken-Oh, whose iron fist sought to oppress the people and establish order, but nevertheless he remained curious of Kenshiro's compassionate ways. In order to test Kenshiro's potential and provoke him into battle, Ryuga went on a manic killing spree and attacked Toki, who was already dying. Kenshiro awakened his rage and defeated Ryuga, who felt the true power of his fist. After the fight, the wounded Toki appeared and revealed that Ryuga had already committed kagebara (concealed disembowelment) before the fight to atone for his sins. It was also revealed that he was the older brother of Kenshiro's beloved, Yuria, thus meaning that Kenshiro was his brother-in-law. With his final breath, Ryuga declared that it would be Kenshiro, and not Raoh, who would save the world.
Juza Gaiden
- Ryuga helped Juza escape from prison after Juza found out that he could not marry Yuria because she was his half-sister. Later, Ryuga meets Juza along with Hyui and Shuren once again having sworn allegiance to Raoh. He reaffirms his belief that the world desires to be ruled by a conqueror like Raoh, which is why he has forsaken his 'lone wolf' path. Although he handles Hyui and Shuren without much trouble, his fight with Juza reaches a stalemate, vowing that one of them will surely die in the next encounter.
