The Major (少佐, Shōsa) was a Golan commando who used a razor sharp wire garrote that could decapitate people, as well as throwing knives. Kenshiro defeated Major with the Hokuto Sokin Jizai Kyaku, which forced the Major to decapitate himself.

Appearance

He is a fair-skinned man with a thin build who has dark hair (colored dark blond/brown in the anime) and a pencil mustache (which gets half of it torn off by Ken).

Like the rest of Golan, he dresses in a proper military uniform, which consists of an officer's hat, a pair of sunglasses, a long jacket with a collar reminiscient of those on the Schutzstaffle uniforms, as well as a pair of trousers and boots.

Personality

His cruelty, sadism, and tyrannical behavior and notable even for the members of Golan, as rather than merely enjoying acts of cruelty and villainy, he seems to enjoy the pain and anguish of others, as he likes to emotionally torture the women that Golan captures by killing the men they love, be it their fathers or their husbands, in front of their very eyes, and although the aformentioned scene is left out of the anime, he remains just as much of an inhumane sadist as he is in the manga, as he is shown ordering one of the Golan trainees to kill his own brother, and he is also shown with a genuine smile on his face when he killed the rebels fighting against Golan.

Abilities

Armed Combat

He wields a whip-like garrote (changed to a regular whip in the anime) that is strong and sharp enough to decapitate people. He also showcases enough skill with it to use it to capture the throwing knives that Ken deflected. His expertise with it is also further showcased in the anime, as he is shown using to lasso the limbs of his enemy and toss them around.

Authority in Golan

He is a commanding officer within the ranks of Golan, and is accompanied by a group of men who wear uniforms very similar to him that specialize in the use of throwing knives.

TV Series

In the TV series, he uses a whip instead. Major was also present in at the training with Mad Sarge. The Major is forced to strangle himself to death.

Notes

• The anime only member of Golan, Captain, resembles the Major outside of not having a fake mustache.
