Denshōsha (伝承者) is a term used to designate the successor of a martial arts school. Hokuto Shinken follows the code of Isshi Sōden (father to son) which means this title has greater importance, since there can only be one successor for each generation. The 108 schools of Nanto Sei Ken have practitioners for every discipline, but only one who qualifies as denshōsha - with Souther's Nanto Hōō Ken being the exception, since only its successor can practice the style.
