Ein's young daughter, to whom he affectionately refers to as his "woman". She is the reason that Ein works as a bounty hunter. When Ein's enemies attempt to kidnap Asuka, he entrusts her to his fellow bounty hunter, Ren. Ren double-crosses Ein and takes Asuka hostage for the Imperial Army. Asuka is rescued by Kenshiro and placed into the care of Mamiya and Airi. During Ein's funeral, Asuka refuses to cry as her daddy wouldn't be able to sleep. She gives Ein's glove to Kenshiro as a keepsake.

    TV series[edit | edit source]

In the TV series it is established that Asuka is Ein's adopted daughter, whom he adopted from a young widow that used to take care of him. The widow was killed by bandits and Ein adopted Asuka as his own. We are also introduced to Joseph who takes care of Asuka in Ein's absence. Rather than entrusted to Mamiya, Asuka accompanies the Hokuto Army to the Imperial Capitol, where she witnesses her father's death.

    Video games[edit | edit source]

    • In Shin Hokuto Muso, Asuka's mother is a widowed bartender when she first encounters Ein. Sometime later, after Ein had left their village, Asuka and her mother are abducted and taken to Yuda's castle. An army led by Shu and Ein attack the castle and set the captive women (including Mamiya) free. Asuka's mother does not survive, though, and Ein vows to take care of Asuka.
    • In Hokuto no Ken 4, a grown-up Asuka is engaged to a man called Jaime. However, her fiancé is murdered by one of the game's villains Balaam. As with her father's passing, Asuka refuses to cry over his death.
