Koryu (コウリュウ, Kōryū)

A master of Hokuto Shinken who once trained alongside Ryuken, his old rival, but yielded succession to avoid the tragic destiny of Isshi Sōden. He is also known as the 'Hokuto Dragon'. To prevent passing down his knowledge, he retreated to the mountains and led an ascetic life. However, Raoh sought him out as the perfect opponent for his comeback fight. Koryu fights reluctantly and performs a failed suicide attack to seal Raoh's terrible power. Raoh soon breaks off Koryu's hands and kills him. After Raoh defeats him, he meets Koryu's two sons, Zeus and Aus, and spares their lives after they attempt to avenge their father. As a parting gift, he tells them to choose different paths or face the same fate (a reference to his own relationship with Toki).
