- Fugen (フウゲン Fūgen)
- The former master of Nanto Koshū Ken, who instructed Shin and Jugai. After Shin succeeded him as successor, he severed the tendons in Fūgen's legs, crippling him. He becomes one of Guruma's slaves and helps Kenshiro awaken to his destiny as a savior. He later dies in the explosion of Gesso City.
