Mad Sarge (マッド軍曹(サージ), Maddo Sāji): The Golan's drill instructor, who has killed a thousand enemy soldiers in battle. He is a knife expert who can stab ten times a second and uses blood-sucking needle knives as well. In the anime, his knife is soaked with scorpion venom.

Mad Sarge's hair color is black in the manga, but blond in the anime.
Mad Sarge's design was inspired by the character 'Sergeant Major Williams' from the classic BBC sitcom "It Ain't Half Hot, Mum".
