The eldest of Ryūken's four adopted sons, Raoh (ラオウ) is actually the older brother of Toki and Sayaka and the younger brother of Kaiō. His name became synonymous with the star "Bōkyōsei" (Violent Evil Star).
Childhood
Raoh was orphaned at a young age after his mother died in a fire. After being sent away from the Land of Asura as a boy by Jūkei, Raoh and Toki were adopted by Ryūken. Raoh trained hard under Ryūken, filled with desire to become the strongest. He made a childhood promise with Toki that, should he fall victim to his own ambition, his younger brother would stop him at any cost.
The King of the Fist
When Kenshirō was chosen as the Hokuto Shin Ken successor, Raoh broke the 1800-year Hokuto law by refusing to give up the Hokuto style. He killed Ryūken when his old master tried to stop him from misusing the Hokuto style. Raoh left the Hokuto dojo and took the name of Ken-ō (拳王 Fist King). He united many under his banner through fear and respect, including the likes of Jagi, Amiba, Uighur, Yuda, Ryūga, and Akashachi. Raoh and his forces also conquered the legendary stronghold Cassandra and used it to imprison many martial artists, whose secret scrolls had been stolen by Raoh in order to perfect the ultimate fist.
After Cassandra was destroyed and Toki was rescued by Kenshirō, Rei of the Nanto Suichō Ken style tried to stop Raoh during an attack on Mamiya's village. However, Raoh struck him down with a vicious, fatal blow. Kenshirō fought him soon after in an intense battle that came to a standstill when Toki intervened to stop them from killing each other. Toki, himself, later challenged Raoh to fulfil their childhood promise, but he was defeated and spared by Raoh, in a rare gesture of mercy.
Kenshirō unlocked the secret of the Musō Tensei technique, proving to be the ultimate Hokuto fighter in 1800 years. When Raoh learned that Yuria was alive, he captured her and discovered she was dying. This sadness enabled Raoh to also learn Hokuto's Musō Tensei. During their final battle, Kenshirō, infused with the spirits of his friends and rivals, had the edge over Raoh, whose fist lacked the power to triumph.
As his last deed as Ken-ō, Raoh proclaimed to have no regrets before sending his life-force into the air, bringing light back to the world.
Fighting Style
As a master of Hokuto Shinken, Raoh boasts extraordinary fighting power. In order to punish the martial artists who defy him, he uses the keiraku hikō to inflict a slow and agonizing death, as shown with Rei. Raoh also incorporated martial arts stolen from Cassandra into his fighting style and has displayed techniques from both Nanto Sei Ken and Rakan Niō Ken.
His Hard Fist (剛の拳 Gō no Ken) fighting style overpowers his opponent with immense force and also enhances his own strength.
