This was exploited by [[Kouketsu]], who enslaved Balga and the rest of Raoh's soldiers. Balga was forced to toil endlessly to keep his young son [[Shingo]] and the other children alive. When [[Kenshirō]] and [[Ryu]] (Raoh's son) arrived to take revenge for the death of Ryu's adoptive parents, they led a revolt against Kouketsu and released the young slaves. Balga was left in charge of the land and its people, having reclaimed his honor. After visiting the kingdoms of [[Sava]] and [[Blanca]], Kenshirō leaves Ryu in Balga's care.
