(南斗孤鷲拳, South Dipper Lone Eagle Fist): An orthodox style of Nanto Seiken practiced by Shin, which uses stabbing/thrusting attacks, seemingly most dangerous in close quarters. It also has the ability to perform flying kicks, as shown in flashbacks in both the manga and anime, and the Nanto Gokuto Ken/Nanto Gokusatsu Ken attack, which uses air pressure to disable an opponent's limbs.
This branch of the Nanto Seiken was originally unnamed in the manga and anime. The designation Nanto Koshū Ken was first used in the 1986 publication Hokuto no Ken Special: All About the Man and has been used in every official Hokuto no Ken source since then. Shin announces its name for the first time in the video game Hokuto no Ken: Shinpan no Sōsōsei Kengō Retsuden.
