Beji (ベジ) and Giji (ギジ) were members of the Holy Emperor's army who practised the martial art style of Nanto Sōzan Ken, a martial art which involves two practitioners juggling knives between one another.
Before Kenshiro got to challenge Souther to their first battle, Souther sent out out Beji and Giji to measure Kenshirō's fighting ability. The two warriors surrounded Kenshirō with their knife throwing technique, but Kenshiro avoided their attacks and struck both warriors on their chest, hitting their respective Jikyūkyō vital points. This caused them to lose their sense of sight, and when they attempted to resume their attack on Kenshiro, they killed each other by throwing their knives into each others' faces.
Shin Kyūseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken
Beji and Giji appeared in the novelization of Raoh Den Junai no Shō, however, their role was omitted for the final movie.
