Gō no Ken (剛の拳 Fist of Strength) is a form of Hokuto Shinken created by Raoh. As the name implies, it uses immense force to overpower opponents and can also be used to augment the user's own strength. Toki imitated this style in his failed attempt to defeat Raoh, after pressing the Sekkatsu-kō vital point to temporarily boost his strength.
Raoh’s Gou no Ken (Fist of Strength) style
Enshō Ha (円掌波, Circle Palm Wave): Used by Raoh in Ten no Haoh. It sends a circular wave through the target's body.
Gōshō Ha (剛掌波, Iron Palm Wave): Raoh's trademark technique; it attacks the adversary outside the practitioner's reach. To achieve this, the fighter expels a large amount of their tōki (闘気, battle aura) from the palm of their hand, creating a powerful wave.
Gōten Shō (剛天衝, Strong Heaven Rush)㊙: Raoh raises his fist towards the heavens and projects a powerful wave of energy towards the sky. People who stand close to him will get hurt by the waves of energy rising upwards. The technique isn't given an official name in the original series.
Haten Kaijin (北把天壊拳, Heaven Quaking Destruction Fist): Hokuto Musō game original technique. Raoh powers up a single fist, raising it briefly toward the heavens. He then smashes downward for a devastating blow forward. Again, the move is likely a reference to Raoh's One Hit Finishing Blow appearing in the aforementioned fighting game (though under a different name).
Itten Shō (一点鐘, Point Chime): Used by Raoh in Ten no Haoh. A powerful uppercut which can pierce the vital points through airflow, even when blocked.
Ken'Oh Tensei Geki (拳王天墜撃, Fist King Heavenly Blow)㊙: Hokuto Musō game original technique. Raoh summons a huge ball of energy to crash down on his foes.
Koku Ten Satsu (黒天殺, Black Heaven Kill): Hokuto Musō game original technique. Raoh raises his fist to emit a tiny whirlwind and calls for his horse. He then simply crosses his arms as Kokuougou jumps in and smashes foes in front of him. Can only be used if Kokuougou is with him and also instantly relocates Kokuougou on the map. His horse can also be used by Kenshiro.
Musō Insatsu (無想陰殺, Unconscious Shadow Kill): An instinctive counter-attack used by Raoh against Toki.
Raretsu Ken (羅裂拳, Gauze Fissure Fist): Arc Systems video game original game technique which was later reused in Hokuto Musō. Raoh begins by powering up a single fist for a mighty overhead strike. While his enemies are stunned by the impact, he immediately follows with a barrage of rapid-fire punches. Finishing them off with a single kick, he crosses his arms as they whirl away from him.
Shinten Rai (震天雷, Heaven Shaking Thunder): Raoh powers up and projects a destructive dome of energy around him. It blows his victims within range far away from him. This attack is not named in original series.
Shū Renda (輯連打, Collected Barrage): Used by Raoh in Ten no Haoh. A rapid punching attack. In the novelization, it is said the attack leaks blood from the victim's pores.
Tenshō Honretsu (天将奔烈, Heaven's Command Charge): Raoh's ultimate technique. A rotating hand charge which fires a large wave of tōki.
Tenshō Raigeki (天将雷撃, Commanding Lightning Strike): A chop that Raoh delivered to Toki.
Zenrei no Ken (全霊の拳, Fist of One's Whole Soul): Also known as Mettei Ha (滅天把, Destruction Heaven Wave), or Hatenkai Ken (把天壊拳, Grasp-Heaven Demolition Fist). Raoh's final attack; he concentrated his life-force into a single punch but it was defeated by Kenshirō.
Toki’s Gou no Ken (Fist of Strength) style
Saiha Ken (砕覇拳, Breaking Supremacy Fist): Toki's powerful uppercut against Raoh.
Tenshō Hyakuretsu Ken (天翔百裂拳, Heaven Soaring Hundred Crack Fist): Toki's mid-air rapid-fire punch used against Raoh.
Tōkei Kohō (闘勁呼法, Breathing of Strong Battle)㊙: A secret breathing technique which focuses strength through inhalation before releasing it upon exhalation.
Kenshiro’s Gou no Ken (Fist of Strength) style
Gōshō Ha (剛掌波), Iron Palm Wave): Used by Kenshiro against Baran. It attacks the adversary outside the practitioner's reach by focusing a wave of tōki (闘気, battle aura) from the palm of their hand.
Tenshō Honretsu (天将奔烈, Heaven's Command Charge): Used by Kenshiro against Han. A rotating hand charge which fires a large wave of tōki.
Baran's Gou no Ken (Fist of Strength) style
Gōshō Ha (剛掌波), Iron Palm Wave): Baran believed he had mastered Raoh's signature technique until Kenshiro neautrilized the attack and defeated him with a perfect Gōshō Ha.
Shichi Ten Shō (七点掌, Seven Point Palm) A stance taken by Baran during his fight with Kenshiro. Its movement creates an illusion of the hands that allows the user to deceive the target.
Zanei Katsu Ken (残影蠍拳 Remnant Scorpion Fist): A rapid attack from the Shichi Ten Shō stance used by Baran on Kenshiro. It initially targets the upper body before feinting and attacking the victim's exposed half. |
