Mad Sarge (マッド軍曹(サージ), Maddo Sāji)
The Golan's drill instructor, who has killed a thousand enemy soldiers in battle. He is a knife expert who can stab ten times a second and uses blood-sucking needle knives as well. In the anime, his knife is soaked with scorpion venom.

AppearanceEdit

He is a very large and muscular man who has wild-looking eyes, no hair on his head, big thick eyebrows, and a large mustache. In the manga and all other media depicting him in color, he is portrayed with dark hair, but in the anime, he has blond hair instead.

Like every other member of Golan, he wears military fatigues, and wears a matching sleeveless vest with a pair of vambraces, both sporting a camouflage pattern, with a pair of shoulderpads, and a light pair of trousers. He also wears a red beret with an emblem on it.

PersonalityEdit

He is a culmination of the nastiest stereotypes of drill instructors out there, being nothing but abrasive and uncaring towards his subordinates, and forces them to come at each other for real even though they're supposed to be training, and even making them do dangerous things such as using knives in their training. He takes this so seriously that he actually forced a soldier of his to stab his little brother when he saw him hesitating.

HistoryEdit

Early LifeEdit

The details of his early life are scant at best, though certainly gory. Mad Sarge's inhuman skills and position in the Golan Army strongly suggest that he was a remarkable Spec Ops soldier in the Red Berets before nuclear fire swallowed the Earth; his twin Bowie Knives and numerous "blood-sucking needles" indicate that he was well equipped to fight and survive in hostile wilds, and experienced enough to cultivate a squadron of new recruits into cold-blooded killers. Mad Sarge must have been subordinate to The Colonel as he was after The War, meaning he was once most likely an avid patriot and blissfully unaware of what it was he was really fighting for.

The Nuclear WarEdit

As The Colonel did before him, Mad Sarge lost faith in his country, though it is unclear whether it was before the War of 199X or directly resulting from it that this happened. Having survived the nuclear eschaton with his company, Mad Sarge could not help but feel that this statistical miracle was in fact miraculous. He eventually conceded with his superior's prophesying that God had separated the wheat from the chaff in a divinely sanctioned war, sparked by missile bombardment and waged by the Red Berets, His chosen people, against the undeserving wretches plaguing the world. After abandoning his previous convictions, Mad Sarge entirely devoted himself to a new cause: building a holy race fit to bring about God's Land.

AbilitiesEdit

Like any soldier; Mad Sarge has a pragmatic fighting style, and is more than willing to use any weapon he has on hand, and even carries esoteric weaponry on person in the form of his blood-sucking needles, which are designed to exsanguinate anybody they hit. Aside from that, he is also specializes in the use of knives, as he's able to stab at incredibly high speeds even when wielding one in each hand.
