AppearanceEdit

He is a lean, muscular man who has long limbs, no eyebrows, a tattoo of the letter K, representing KING (changed to J, for Jack, in the anime) above his namesake suit on the upper-right part of his face, and a Blond (red in the anime) Mohawk.
He wears very little clothing (although he is depicted as wearing a pair of pants in the anime) besides a harness that has spikes on the upmost straps, armored gloves with built-in claws, a pair of trunks that have studs on the front underneath a belt with two tassets attached to it, and an armored pair of boots.

PersonalityEdit

Club is best described as an ultra-sadistic maniac who not only disregards the value human life, but has no sense of fair play, honing his skills against defenseless civilians. Whilst Club claims he will avenge Spade and Diamond, he also disrespects his fallen comrades, by calling them idiots for apparently neglecting their training.
He possesses a notable tic of licking the blades of his claws.
He is also an incredibly prideful person, as he often derogatorily refers to his foes as insects and worms, although his pride is not big enough for him to resort to begging and even betraying his own allies when in the face of death, as Kenshiro was able to successfully interrogate him for the location of Shin.

MangaEdit

Determined to get revenge for Diamond's death to Kenshiro, Club practiced his brutal Tōrō Ken fighting style on captured peasants after challenging them to one-sided death-matches in his arena at Southern Cross.

TV SeriesEdit

In the anime, he fights caged matches against anyone who tries to escape Dorado City. Kenshiro kills him by striking the vital point Meimon (Gate of Life), which snaps his spine in half.

 Recollection of Heavy MetalEdit

Club and Diamond starred in the short story Recollection of Heavy Metal. It is revealed that the two were members of a heavy metal band and that Club's real name is Kōhei Shimatani (島谷こうへい).

Ten no HaohEdit

Club makes a brief appearance in Ten no Haoh when Reina and Ryuga go to Southern Cross to kill KING. Club attacks Ryuga with his claws, but Ryuga easily defeats him. However, as Ryuga is about to kill Club, Juza intervenes and Club realizing he is outmatched, takes this opportunity to flee.

Rei GaidenEdit

Alongside the other lieutenants of KING, he was present when Shin announced that Lady Eva was dead. Later, he accompanied his lord to observe the fight between Rei and Rofu.

Video gamesEdit

Hokuto No Ken 3 features Club as a random encounter in KING palace.
The Master system game has Club as the third miniboss in Shin's stage, frequently performing a jump attack. In the US Localization, Black Belt, Club is given a martial arts uniform and renamed a "Kung Fu Master.
Club is replaced by a nameless spike commander in Shin Hokuto Muso, whom takes his dialogue and role in the plot.

NotesEdit

  • Jack of World Heroes closely resembles Club. Similar to Club, Jack has the habit of licking the blades of his claws.
  • He seems to be the inspiration for a common enemy named "Nail Mohawk" from the CAPCOM title for the PS2, God Hand, given that these enemies possess a similar physical appearance to him, having a lean yet muscular build, hair styled into a mohawk, and wielding a pair of claws. They also notably have a taunt where they lick their claws, just like Club does.
