: [[Souther]]'s [[wikipedia:Sifu|sifu]] and adoptive father, who taught him [[Nanto Hōō Ken]]. Souther was committed to his training, if only to bask in his sifu's warmth and pride. When Souther came of age, he was given the final trial of his training. He would have to defeat an unseen enemy by wearing a blindfold. Souther was successful, but to his horror discovered the fallen foe was Ōgai himself. With his last breaths, Ōgai told Souther this was the fate of the Nanto Hō-Ō Ken: The young must replace the old. Souther erects a mighty pyramid for his master's mummified body. After his master's death, Souther discarded all of his emotions, thinking that it would make him stronger, as he declared emotions as the source of his pain and sorrow, but after his defeat at the hands of kenshiro, he confesses that Hokuto no Ken as the strongest style, and by accepting his fate, he dies on top of the holy pyramid, joining his master's soul in the heavens.
