: The successor of the style and one of the Nanto Roku Seiken. He carries the burden of the , who is destined to live his life for the sake of others.

Originally Shuh was Souther's second-in-command, but was awakened to his destiny by a young Kenshirō. When Kenshirō was still a child, Raoh brought him to the Nanto Temple for a test of his worthiness. Kenshirō would defeat ten Nanto warriors or die in the attempt. Sensing that Kenshirō reacted to his ki, Shū volunteered himself as the tenth opponent and handily defeated the boy. When Souther demanded his death, Shū refused and instead clawed out his own eyes, carrying Kenshirō from the temple. Shū taught himself to see with his heart, and later leads a resistance movement against Souther. Shū's son Shiva, who Shū did not want taking part in his tragic destiny, dies saving Kenshirō from Souther after his defeat. Later, Shū's hideout is raided, and Shū allows himself to be tormented and slain to protect his young charges. During his final moment, he miraculously recovers his eyesight and sees the grown Kenshirō for the first and final time. When Souther is defeated, the summit of the pyramid (where Shū died) leaks out Shū's blood, showing that the Benevolent Star wept even for someone as evil as Souther.
: Shuu was originally Souther's second-in-command and was present during young Kenshiro's battle at the Nanto Junin Kumite. Raoh had brought Kenshiro to the Nanto dojo in order to test his potential, where he would defeat ten Nanto opponents or die trying. When Kenshiro reacted to Shuu's ki, Shuu volunteered to be the final opponent and handily defeated the boy. However, Shuu defied Souther's order of execution and clawed out his own eyes in exchange for Kenshiro's life, believing his potential would surpass them all. Shuu carries the young Kenshiro from the temple and would now learn to see with his heart.

: After the nuclear war, Shuu leads a resistance movement against Souther, protecting the children of the wasteland from the Holy Emperor's cruelty. When Kenshiro is defeated and imprisoned by Souther, Shuu's young son, Shiva, sacrifices his life to rescue him. The guerilla hideout is then besieged by Souther and his troops in retaliation. While Kenshiro is still unconscious as he recovers from his wounds, Shuu arranges his escape before challenging Souther himself. However, he is defeated and suffers torture in order to protect the young hostages. Shuu dies resting the capstone on Souther's Holy Pyramid, but before his death, he miraculously recovers his eyesight and witnesses the grown Kenshiro for the first and final time. When Souther is killed by Kenshiro, the summit of the pyramid leaks Shuu's blood, causing it to collapse under the weight of his sadness.
