In 1988, he voiced the well known character, ''[[w:c:akira:Tetsuo Shima|Tetsuo Shima]]'', in the movie, ''[[w:c:akira:Akira (Anime)|Akira]]'', which was adapted from the manga of the same name. He also performed the role of ''[[w:c:yuyuhakusho:Yusuke Urameshi|Yusuke Urameshi]]'' in the popular anime adaptation of the manga ''[[w:c:yuyuhakusho:YuYu Hakusho|Yuyu Hakusho]]'' and returned to that role in video games for that franchise. He is sometimes mistaken for fellow seiyū [[wikipedia:Nozomi Sasaki (voice actress)|Nozomi Sasaki]], whose name is written the same way. Sasaki has emerged the victor of the Seiyuu Grand Prix (in which votes were collected to compile a top ten list of voice actors) more times than any other voice actor.
