[[Kenshiro]] and [[Bat]] saw the commotion during their first visit to Oasis. Ken weakened the thug's muscle strength by striking his arms with the {{nihongo|"Iron Muscle Severing Kick"|鋼筋分断脚|Gōkin Bundan Kyaku}}, leaving Buro with barely enough strength to earn his meals with honest work, much to Buro's dismay. This makes Buro one of the few "giant thugs" to survive an encounter with Kenshiro. The fact that Ken did not kill him likely means that he saw a chance that Buro might actually make an honest living.
