: '''Ramon Kasumi''' (霞 羅門 ''Kasumi Ramon''), also known as '''Ryūken''' (リュウケン), was Kenshirō's adoptive father and the 63rd successor of Hokuto Shin Ken.  Ryūken successfully battled with Kōryū for successorship. He was the sifu who adopted and trained [[Raoh]], [[Toki]], [[Jagi]], and [[Kenshirō]]. After choosing Kenshirō as the next successor, Ryūken was slain by Raoh, largely by chance, as he suffered a temporary [[wikipedia:myocardial infarction|heart attack]] just when he was about to seal Raoh's fist after failing to prevent his misuse of Hokuto Shin Ken. Kenshirō did not know the real cause of Ryūken's death, having been told that Ryūken died from illness, until Toki revealed the shameful secret during their first battle. He named Kenshirō after his older brother, [[Kenshirō Kasumi]], because they both had a Big Dipper-shaped birthmark.  His refers to his older brother as the "Strongest Hokuto Shin Ken warrior" who is as "mighty as the blue sky above." The young Ramon first protected Aya Kitaoji from hired thugs, later serving as a bodyguard to Pān Yù-Líng from the Tài Hú Bāng during her stay in Japan. Ramon is later revealed to be Kenshiro's half-brother, since Kenshiro was born from a different mother.
