Zeed gang

The Zeed gang was a group of thugs led by Zeed. Well known in the wastelands for their cruelty. They were the first enemies faced by Kenshiro, both in the manga and in the TV series. All members of the gang have mohawks, motorcycles and the letter Z tattooed on their forehead. During the attack on Lin's village, Kenshiro killed several of them, and then easily defeated Zeed. It is unknown what happened to the rest of the members.

1986 movie

In this version of the story, four members of the band chase Lin and Bat, and before one of them kills Lin, Kenshiro arrives and ends the four punks. Shortly after arriving at the village of Lin and Bat, Zeed and the rest of the gang attacks. Unlike anime or manga, in this version Kenshiro ends all the thugs before killing Zeed.

Toki Gaiden

In the spinoff manga, Zeed and his gang of thugs are persuaded by Amiba to launch a night-raid to the Village of Miracles, but they are thwarted by the combined efforts of Toki, Juza and the villagers.

A Zeed Gang member captured by Juza claimed a member's mohawk and motorcycle are symbols of the pride for the gang.

Trivia

• Although they are a group of heartless punks, both manga and anime show as Zeed has appreciation for his gang members, since he was quite annoyed to see how Kenshiro killed some of them.
• A generic member of the Zeed gang was made an action figure in Revoltech's Hokuto No Ken line. The Zeed figure had the feature of coming with alternate head and body parts to simulate an explosive death induced by Hokuto Shinken. The Zeed could use alternate heads and weapons from other figures within revoltech's line such as Shin's figure coming with an Nanto Seiken impaled head and a sickle for the Zeed figure to use.
